"How did he make that save?!?!"

That call from Pat Foley is an instant classic, as it should be. That save last night was absolutely incredible, and the crowd erupted all with the same thought: Niemi can be the man. After some doubt between him and Huet, Niemi getting two shutouts in a week all but seals the deal for him to be the playoff goalie for coach Q.

Last night at the UC was amazing. Everyone knew coming in that this was the biggest game of the season, and obviously so did I. I wanted to do my part and have just as much energy as I wanted the Blackhawks to have, and alot of the fans were with me on that. Even though the second period was the only one in which we scored, the energy level stayed constant throughout the game because the defense and Niemi were stellar as well. It was really good to see Seabs back and owning people. Overall, it was just really good for the team and the fans to see that when it counts the most, the Blackhawks can come through. I believe this will be the start of a nice stretch to end the season.

The two games against the Jackets coming up should be interesting. Last time the Hawks went in to Columbus, the crowd started chanting "over-rated!" and then Troy Brower got a game winning goal in the shootout and the crowd shut up. They scuffled with them physically a bit too, which should also make for an interesting game if that keeps up. All I know is, i'm looking forward to a couple nice games to end the moth of March and start a nice stretch to get hot going into the playoffs.
